In Fond Memory of Jim Lefevre

A very special man died in September, one month short of his 85th birthday. Jim Lefevre of West Kelowna, Canada - whose memorial
James Russell Lefevre, 1928-2013
service takes place today - left his mark on this blog through his delightful submissions for Scottish Afternoon Tea Cake, Dropped Griddle Scones (aka “Girdle Scones”), and his penny-pinching recipe for Jim’s Pancakes

Although I never had the pleasure of meeting Jim, his charming sense of humor shone through his submissions and through the comments of Barb, his wife of 55 years.

Jim was a Scot who never tired of quoting the Scottish bard, Robbie Burns. As well as Barb, he leaves his three adult children and four grandchildren, all of British Columbia, Canada.

Farewell, thou fair day, thou green earth, and ye skies,
Now gay with the broad setting sun;
Farewell, loves and friendships, ye dear tender ties,
Our race of existence is run!

- The Song Of Death, Robert Burns, 1791

Ye’ll be missed, Laddie.
