Fabulous Chocolate Glaze

This recipe is one of my most reliable stand-bys. I used this glaze to decorate the edge of Milla’s Very Own Chocolate Cake topped with White Mountain Frosting. It’s versatile: I’ve used it to make chocolate sundaes, milkshakes, and as a topping for Cream Puffs - a recipe I’ll blog for you in a couple of days.
Fabulous Chocolate Glaze:
1 c. icing sugar, sifted
2 tbsp. pure cocoa, sifted
1 tbsp. butter or margarine, melted
2 tbsp. water
In a mixing bowl, combine icing sugar and cocoa. Heat butter and water together in a microwave-safe container just until water comes to a boil. Add to dry ingredients, stirring until mixture begins to thicken and becomes smooth. Use immediately; glaze sets fast! This makes enough glaze to drizzle over 10 large or 24 small cream puffs.

Note: If you like this recipe, try my Hot Butterscotch Sauce posted August 25, 2012.

Sift icing sugar and cocoa together

Stir dry ingredients together, ensuring there are no lumps

Melt butter in boiling water
Add all at once to cocoa and sugar

This dark, delicious chocolate glaze is splendid with Cream Puffs and other desserts
