Nicole’s Special Croutons

Please, please, please - even if you hate cooking - make this recipe! These croutons are so quick and so fresh and so delicious that you’ll never use the commercial variety again.

Nicole’s Special Croutons:
1 c. (250 mL) cubed white bread, dried
3 tbsp. (45 mL) butter or margarine
¼ tsp. (1.25 mL) dried basil
¼ tsp. (1.25 mL) dried oregano
½ tsp. (2.5 mL) seasoning salt
Sauté cubed bread in butter on medium-high heat. Remove from heat, tossing in still-hot skillet with combined herbs and seasoning salt. Use at once. Makes enough seasoned croutons for 2 or 3 portions of Caesar Salad.

Melt butter in skillet

Sauté dried bread cubes

Flavor with basil, oregano, seasoning salt
