Spanish Rice

I love this budget-wise recipe! It’s quick, easy, and inexpensive to prepare.
Spanish Rice:
1 lb. lean ground beef
1 medium onion, finely chopped
1 green bell pepper, diced
1 c. raw long-grain white rice, rinsed to remove starch
One 14 oz. (398 mL) can tomato sauce
2 c. hot water
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. prepared mustard (“ballpark” style)
In a deep skillet, sauté ground beef with onion, pepper, and rice on medium high. Cook until no pink remains in meat and onion and pepper are soft. Add remaining ingredients, stirring to combine. Bring to a boil. Cover and reduce heat. Simmer 35 min., stirring once. Serves 4 - 6.

Ach! Lieblinge! So simple ... green peppers ...

Cry me a river, Dollinks! Onions ...

Combine these with a pound of ground beef ...

Add tomato sauce, rice, and seasonings ...

Ready to serve in 35 minutes!
