This simple mustard sauce is the best I’ve ever tasted! Ron serves it with hot-smoked salmon, salmon sandwiches, or ham. This recipe comes from an elderly woman who has since passed away.
Ron’s Mustard Sauce:
¼ c. (60 mL) powdered mustard
¼ c. (60 mL) cider vinegar
1 tbsp. (15 mL) granulated sugar
1 egg
½ c. (125 mL) mayonnaise
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the mustard, vinegar, sugar and egg. Cook until thickened. Cool to room temperature. Stir in mayonnaise. Cover and refrigerate up to 6 weeks.
