Citrus Sangria

Similar to Sangria Blanca, this enjoyable drink offers extra pucker power through the addition of lime. I promise it will be a summer favorite! Invite family! Neighbors! Friends! Don’t be a Lonely Lou!

Citrus Sangria:

½ c. granulated sugar
½ c. freshly squeezed lemon juice, chilled
¼ c. freshly squeezed lime juice, chilled
One 26-oz. (715 mL) bottle dry white wine, chilled
¼ c. orange-flavored liqueur
Ice cubes, as required
Club soda, chilled, as required
Sliced fresh fruits such as peaches, oranges, limes

In a small saucepan over low heat, dissolve sugar in lemon and lime juices. Chill and pour into large pitcher. Stir in wine and orange-flavored liqueur. Immediately before serving, add ice, club soda, and sliced fruits. Garnish with a slice of unpeeled lemon or lime at the edge of the glass. Yields 8 servings.
